Mike Wasilewski
Founding Partner & CCO
Mike is a Brooklyn-based creative director and design educator who lives, eats, and breathes branding. He partnered with Jiffy Iuen in 2011 to form Frank Collective with the goal of creating new brands and evolving established brands. As CCO of Frank, Mike leads a creative team across all aspects of brand creation and brand communications through a high-touch, founder-to-founder, empathetic approach. Some of the brands developed under Mike’s direction are Blue Apron, Lola, Ladder, Made-In Cookware, and Barefoot Wine.
Mike’s previous experience is with some of New York’s top creative agencies, including Pentagram Design, Radical Media, and The Daily – the first ever iPad daily news publication. Mike has worked with global brands from Tommy Hilfiger and Grey Goose, to TED, AMC, and NASA. Mike’s work has been published in the NY Times and Wall-street Journal, as well as featured in the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. He has been recognized with an Emmy nomination, multiple industry awards, juried the London International Awards, and even seen his design work launched into space (seriously…space).
Always looking to bring an understanding of design to a broader audience, Mike is a part-time faculty professor at Parsons, where he inspires and educates the next generation of creatives on brand concepts and runs workshops on brand thinking for conferences such as The Guerilla Science Festival and the Artists Circle. He also is a panelist and conference lecturer — whenever someone asks him to talk, he’s more than happy to share his thoughts.
Mike lives and works between Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and the Catskills Mountains whenever he can escape to the great outdoors with his wife Brooke and snugglehound Lorenzo.
